Future Generations University offers learning opportunities including a Master of Arts in Applied Community Development, Community Development certificate programs, customized training, workshops, and educational resources for a range of action-learning fieldwork. An Affordable, Flexible Degree
Future Generations University’s Master of Arts in Applied Community Development allows you to learn in a flexible, applied format – ideal for busy professionals and people with family or community commitments eager to be more effective and efficient leaders.
You will complete applied projects in every course that directly improves your work through “community labs.” Each class builds your professional portfolio that documents how you absorbed new knowledge, skills, and tools that relate to your unique career and community efforts. Each community lab positions you closer to the positive, lasting change you dream for your home.
Courses are conducted in a global classroom – a hybrid, live-online format designed specifically for active adults with duties to family, community, work, society and state. With an internet connection and computing device, you are equipped to complete your master’s degree. Future Generations University’s curriculum is flexible – supporting innovative teaching, providing peer-to-peer discourse, and prioritizing field research opportunities.
Earn your Master’s degree with 32 credits achieved through a combination of classes and residential courses, independent study and research, internship, prior learning assessment, and transfer credits.
The Master’s degree, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, equips leaders with knowledge, skills, and real-world expertise that transforms all aspects of communities. The University conducts applied action-research through Community Engagement programs in Appalachia and Himalaya.
